A talented microsurgeon and dedicated researcher who joined the CET program as a senior post-doctoral fellow in 2012 in the Stroke Lab. Collaborative efforts resulted in multiple publication list. Our study showing for the first time the neuroprotective effects of genetic deletion of thioredoxin interacting protein (TXNIP) in a stroke model. This publication was the foundation for his successful RO-1 funding and academic independence. He is currently an Associate Professor of Neurology at University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
