I have known Mohammed for 12 years when he joined my lab in Fall of 2008 in the program in Clinical and Experimental Therapeutic, College of Pharmacy, University of Georgia. As a teacher and a major advisor I got the chance to interact more with Mohammed in several courses and I got to know him very well as an active, attentive and group oriented student in the class who finished all required course work with straight A.
Mohammed is a hard working and a talented researcher who was instrumental to establish several projects in the Retinopathy Lab . I worked closely with him to develop his project, technical and writing skills and he completed his thesis with a long and impressive list of publications including 4-first author and 12-co-authored articles. Of note, Mohammed’s work was highlight on the cover of the Antioxidant Redox Signal . After successful completion of his Doctoral dissertation in my lab in 2011 , he has completed postcoctoral training at the Medical College of Georgia. In 2016, Mohammed continued his success journey and accepted a Faculty position at Mercer University School of Medicine in 2016.
